QuestionHello! I'm trying to make my own custom charm bracelets for family members using pictures of their favorite things. My question is how might this be possible? What I'm attempting to do is take extremely small pictures (printed) and somehow fuse them onto individual italian charm links. I know there's a way to do this as I've seen some very unique ones manufactured outside major distributers. Is there special equipment I may need? AnswerHello Sonya, unfortunately - yes you do need some highly specialised equipment to impress your images onto chain links or other mediums. They are usually part of franchise agrement for the retailers, a bit like photo processing.
Can I suggest an alternate route, it is possible to take your tiny images and encass them into an acrylic block. Once dry the acrylic is completely transparent and can be used as the charm itself. It does take a little practice but you can obtain some quite fascinating results.
The blocks themselves can be gem sized or form the part of a link themselves depending on how big you wish it to be. The material is quite flexible in it,s application.
