Identifying & Valuing Vintage Emmons Jewelry: A Guide

I was hoping to get information on a pin and earing set I got after my grandmother passed away.  I didn't think much of these pieces when I got them except that I had always liked this one in particular.  It is stamped with the Emmons name on the back and I did a little searching and could only find that they were rare because he had only produced them under the emmons name shortly before going to Sara Coventry.  What I have is a silver leaf shapped pin approximately 3'in in length and 2'in in diameter.  The stones are aurora borealis rhinestones and the earing are clip on's that are almost quarter moon shapped.  The set is in perfect condition and I was hoping to get an approximation on the value of these pieces.  Thank you for your help with this.

Thank you for your inquiry. You are right in your research that Emmons was a predecessor to Sarah Coventry. Their quality in jewelry carried over to SC eventhough the name changed. Though not as plentiful as Sarah Coventry, Emmons jewelry is still frequently found. Prices vary with the piece from $10 - $50. These companies have not yet met with a rise in prices with collectors, but early pieces are eagerly sought after by some. To check recent market prices, I suggested you visit one of the online auctions such as eBay.com and use their "search" for Emmons jewelry. That will give you an idea of what the going market is for this designer.
