QuestionHi,
I am not sure if you will be able to answer this or not, but I'll try.
I had an abortion October 5. I was 14 weeks pregnant so I haven't been on the pill in awhile, although on October 8 I started taking them again. On October 11 I had sex with a condom however it broke. Do I have a high risk of getting pregnant again?
Thanks.
Stephanie
AnswerHi Stephanie,
I'm sorry about the delay. I have been so busy.
Your chances of being pregnant are very slim. I would say none, but I've too many pregancies that seem to defy nature.
As you know, pregnancy is diagnosed by amenorrhea (missed period) and a + pregnancy test. For you, however, because of the D & C, you won't know if you have missed a period.
I would say that you are safely not pregnant. You had intercourse only six days after the procedure, and there is no way you should be ovulating then. But remember what I said above.
So, if one month after intercourse (three weeks even), you want to be sure, do a home UPT. That will be the defintive answer.
The bottom line for me is that you are not pregnant unless other evidence presents itself.
Best of luck and look into stronger condoms, :)
