QuestionI am doing a paper on abortion and the topics of when the fetus becomes a person, to what extent does one's answer to this question affect his/her position on late term abortions, and to what extent does it affect society's authority to regulate practices such as late-term abortions. I have to look at this from a utilitarian point of view and from a deontological point of view. I have looked for information about these subjects and have not found much. I was wondering if you could give me your view point and maybe point me in the right direction to find more information about this subject.
AnswerAmanda,
As I'm sure you can guess, I am pro-life. As far as I'm concerned, a child is a person the moment it is conceived. That is without regard to my religious, or lack thereof, beliefs. However, if you are looking for general opinion and websites I know a few:
www.rockforlife.com
www.abortiontv.com
www.holylamb.org
And lastly, the Alan Guttmacher Institute, (can be found through yahoo) always has up to date, relatively unbiased, information.
Good Luck!
