ANSWER: Hi Rachel.

If it is not stamped Plat, 900 or 950 it may be Silver.
The stamp for silver is 925
Have it checked anyway by a jeweler to be sure.

Good Luck !!

QUESTION: I have since heard that if it says just plat, that means it is simply pure platinum which no other metal mixed in.  Have you heard that?

Thanks

Answer
Rachel,

Usually, Platinum contains some iridium for stability usualy 5-10%.
Have it tested to be sure.
My Platinum tester can detect 5% 10% and pure platinum.

Good Luck !!
