Identifying & Valuing Vintage Platinum Engagement Rings

Question
I recently rec'd my fiance's grandmother's engagement ring. It is Platinum, I believe because it says Pt900. Or its says P1900, which i cannot track down the meaning for. It has either a 1/2 to a full carat diamond in the setting, with 3 smaller stones set in the sides. Also inscripted next to the Pt900 is a circle or parantheses with a diamond shape in it. I wanted to know what this meant, & if there was any way to track down the jewelry store where it came from. We believe it was probably made sometime in the 50's, but all who would know are now deceased. Thanks for any help.

Answer
The PT 900 means 90% platinum to 10% iridium. The other mark is a makers mark that I am not familliar with
Sorry Thats all I can tell you.
