How can I be sure a 14K gold charm is indeed gold. It has no markings on it?

Today there are several ways to determine Karat Gold quantity, by filing into the metal a drop of Aqua-Regia Acid is placed on the metal and a non reaction will assure the metal is indeed gold, if the metal turns green and bubbles it most certainly is NOT gold. To determine Karat value one must have a stone with controlled keys each one should be 10 kt 14kt 18kt, you can purchase these from a jewelry supply house which I can furnish for you at your request.

You can also purchase a gold tester which uses a small computer and test s the metal with a Acid pen, this costs upwards of 500.00 - 1500.00
The other way is to take the item to your local jeweler and have them test it.
