Valuing Vintage Disney Castle Gold Charm: A Comprehensive Guide

My aunt has an  1st addition 14 or 18K original gold charm of the Disney Sleeping Beauty Castle. My uncle purchased it for her at the Disney World park in Florida the first year it was opened. How would she find out the value of it now. I believe this is a collectors item.

Hello Lee and thank you for your inquiry. Disney collectibles are always popular. If your charm is marked gold you would need to find out the weight in grams and determine the price of gold for the gold value (changes daily). As far as dating the charm, you might need to find a book on Disney collectibles either at your public library or bookstore to identify it datewise but unless it is dated, it may have been produced for a number of years. There is also a site online that does appraisals from a good photograph called "Whats It Worth To You". They will do a valuation for you for around $10.00.  I've seen the charm in sterling silver sell for around $50.00 and I imagine the gold would be over $100.00.  Hope this helps !
