QuestionHi ! Just wondering if its very costly or very hard to replace a very small cz on a pave set engagement band. Its a very nice ring regardless that its a cz set in white gold....I love it...lol. Thank you so much..o and one more thing if I can get it done will it damage the ring in anyway? THANKS!
AnswerSophie, the new stone will not cost very much at all. To set the stone if bead set means the stone to be replaced must be removed or if already out, all left to do is get the right size new CZ and set it into the same hole. Generally, the hole must be enlarged ever so slightly to allow the new stone in. Then the prongs or beads holding the stone are pushed back into place.
The only real problem with a CZ is that if there is not enough metal to hold the stone in place, the metal cannot be added to the ring. Why? Heat from that work will ruin the CZ stones. In that case, a jeweler can use a water clear ultraviolet curing cement in the tiniest amount to hold the new stone in place.
Normally, this sort of job can be done and the cost is not very high.
God Bless and Peace. Thomas.
