QuestionQUESTION: I'm a little confused. I've read that crown, girdle, pavilion angles and total depth are important when purchasing a diamond because it determines the cut. Can you have a 1.03 ct. diamond with a depth of 60.7%, table 60% with a very thin - medium girdle? I've read that tables that are 60% should NOT have less that thin or more than slightly thick girdles. They said it was an ideal cut, how can that be. Is the diamond warped? Am I right that you should never have a round diamond with an ex. thin to thin faceted girdle because it's to fragile? Thank you in advance for your time in anwering my questions.
ANSWER: The answer to your questions is yes. The diamond is not warped.
I can answer your questions, however for a full understanding of this subject contact AGS - American Gem Society on an explanation of terms pertaining to Ideal Cut Diamonds.

QUESTION: Thanks for the reply but you didn't answer the girdle question. Is very thin bad for a diamond with a 60% table? I'm happy to hear it's not warped though. ~Uriko
AnswerThe girdle edge can be very thin - slightly thick and be OK however it is independent from the table percentage. There isn't a direct relationship between the table percentage and the girdle edge.
Your ok with a very thin girdle edge and 60% table.
