Hello, I have a really lovely old necklace & would really like to know what it is made from. The stones feel like glass, but look like bone of some sort. I really dont know who to ask & found you on the internet I live in Wales, U.K. Many thanks for your time, regards, Sheila
AnswerHello Sheila and thank you for your inquiry. It is very difficult to tell much about beads unless you can actually handle them. They appear to be a natural substance, maybe amber ? I would recommend you try to find a gemologist or jeweler in your area that can give you a definite answer. I can also recommend a book "What's It Made Of" a jewelry materials guide by Sheryl Gross Shatz. You may be able to get it through amazon.com .
