Chlorine and Gemstones: Can Your Jewelry Handle Pool Chemicals?

I'd like to have a necklace w/ my children's gemstones made: these would be garnet/ruby, diamond, and emerald- lab manufactured versions if i can find them.  how would these stones handle chlorine exposure in swimming pools?

Generaly there is no problem with gemstones handleing clorine. Its mainly gold that cant handle the clorine.
