QuestionHello, I was just given some rough rubies, 3, 1 that looks like a strawberry pink color about 20ct, 2 glowing red rubies 5ct each, 1 multi 3ct colored, I think sapphire, and one fire opal,4ct..now my question is who can I send these to be cut and mounted into a setting for a ring or necklace????? I play with gemstone beads and that's fine and dandy but I don't have a clue about rough stones or how to even deal with that sort of a thing...someone thought I would enjoy these because of my hobby, that was sweet but the truth I would just ruin them if I tried to do anything with them..thank you, hope to hear from you soon..diane
AnswerHello Diane
Several people offer cutting services, including my own company K.K. Exports. Depending on the quality & value of the roughs, you might want to find a decent gemcutter nearby for low value roughs or a premium gem cutter (even if far from you) if the roughs are of significant value.
Please let me know more details about the Rough & your location so that I can help you locate a suitable cutter.
Our company, K.K. Exports also provides rough-cutting services.
Best regards
