Identifying Antique Filigree Ring: Maker, Era & Value
Question
Filigree ring
I recently found in my late grandmothers possessions this ring.
It has 10k D6orG on the inside band. It's top is diamond in shaped, filigreed, with four birthstones, the center stone sparkles like stone but is silver. The stones are connected on the back of ring with small screws. Any information as to the maker, era etc. would be much appreciated.Picture is attached.
AnswerHello Angie and thank you for your inquiry. I believe what you have is a Mother's ring or family ring with stones signifying birthdates of family members. These continue to enjoy popularity. Yours is especially pretty. It would be difficult to give you the maker without seeing the exact marking. There are quite a few with D and/or G in the name. The stones are probably gemstones but you would have to have then autenticated by a jeweler or gemologist. For values - check some of the online auctions for Mothers rings. I think you'll find most of them run around $100 or more depending on number of stones, karat gold, design, etc.
Hope this helps and enjoy your ring !
