Decoding Your Vintage Diamond Engagement Ring Markings: EDS & MW3

My fiancee gave me a beautiful diamond engagement ring that was passed down from his grandmother and I was wondering what the markings meant. I'm not sure of the diamond size...I know its over a carat.  It says EDS 14K (I know it means 14Karat but what does the EDS mean?).  It also says on the other side.. MW3 101.  I have no idea what that means... can you help? Thanks :)

YOU GOT THE '14K' RIGHT, THE 'EDS' PROBABLY STANDS FOR 'ENGAGEMENT DIAMOND SETTING'. THE 'MW3 101' IS THE MFG. NUMBER FOR THAT STYLE. IT ALSO COULD BE THE DIAMOND QUALITY AND WEIGHT (1.01 CT) IT IS HARD TO SAY FOR SURE SINCE MOST COMPANIES DON'T DO THIS TYPE OF STAMPING ANY LONGER.
