Restoring Color to Whitened Emeralds: A Cleaning Guide

i tried to clean my mine rough emeralds with muriatic acid to get schist off and when i got some of it off i used baking soda to neutralize the acid,. and i washed them a second time with soapy water and rinsed them with water again then they dried and turned white. how do i get them back green.i do not wish to ruin any stones in the future

Hello,

Try some clear mineral oil to soak them in.  I use one called crystal lube, I use it to polish stones.
