Identifying a Vintage Hungarian Gold Filigree Bangle - Finberg Manufacturing

Question

gold filigree bracelet
I am trying to figure out the background behind a bracelet that my grandmother owned and brought over from Hungary. It is a gold bangle with an oval in the center and filigree on either side of the oval. On the inside of the bracelet are the initials FM.CO (Finberg Manufacturing, right?) with a PAT.32210 (it's very difficult to make out the etching). The bangle opens via a tiny button that, when pushed, releases one end of the bangle from the other. My grandmother was born in 1923 and I can't figure out: 1) what year is this bracelet from and 2) how did she end up with this bracelet in Hungary. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated!

Answer
Hello Malinda and thank you for your inquiry. Finberg Manufacturing Company was located in Attleboro, Mass and was established in 1888 originally to make perfume. Around 1900 they began to make mail order jewelry .They were sold to Union Braiding in Mass.c. 1910 and had several subsequent owners. They were still active in the 1990's. The bracelet may have been purchased by someone in Hungary since they were mail order only in the early 1900's.. Hope this helps !
