Identifying Antique Marks: Decoding Vanity Set Maker's Marks

Question
Hi, i was wondering if you have a source you could recommend that would help me decipher the marks on a 13 piece vanity/dresser set  found last year in a basement set for demolition (it always pays to have one more look!) the set has everything from a button hook to cut crystal containers and some strange items i can only guess at! they are all marked with the same three marks a horizontal anchor, the british lion and the mark that has me stumped is a six point star with a capital E in the center.  Any information at all would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks, Aubrey

Answer
Hello Aubrey and thank you for your inquiry. Since it appears your set may be British in origin, I have listed a page below that has British hallmarks and makers that may be of some help to you. Just copy and paste the below url into your browser address field and hit enter. They have very good visuals with which to compare your mark.  Hope this helps !
