Understanding 'CID' on a 14ct Gold Chain: What Does It Mean?

I have purchased a 14ct gold chain which has CID before it?
Any ideas what this is

Karen, the letters CID do not match any of the normal hallmarks employed by the UK for indication of quality and other factors.  This being the case, I must believe the letters are the maker's mark, initials or abbreviation of registered identification of the manufacturer.
