Identifying & Valuing Vintage DGB CO USA T-Bar Chain

recently my grandfather passed away,and while sorting his belongings
my family and i came across a t-bar chain,
its about 15 inches long and has letters DGB CO USA stamped on push clasp and bar just wondering how old and its worth please

I haven't seen a piece quite like this so I'm unable to give you a value unless it would be sterling or gold which would reflect a market value. The DGB Co is not in any of my reference books for vintage items. I couldn't tell whether it has a swivel or clasp for maybe a pocket watch and the "t" would go through a button hole. I'll be glad to keep your question on the active "burner" and if I locate any information will past it along to you. In the meantime check for any gold or silver content markings.
