Replacing a Lost Blue Topaz: A Guide to Jewelers
QuestionI lost a blue topaz out of a ring with a lot of sentimental value. i would like to get it replaced but was wonder how to go about doing this?
AnswerDear Chelsea,
The easiest way to get the stone replaced is to go to a reputable jeweler. Call around first to see if they have a bench jeweler working in-house. The bench jeweler is the one who actually does the service work. Go to the business and they will look at your ring and see what size and shape topaz is needed and examine the ring to see if there are any repairs needed to keep a replacement secure in the ring. They will need an idea of the shad of blue of the stone you lost and likely have something to show you some colors. Blue topaz ranges from a light blue to a dark bright blue.
The jewelers can tell you how much the work and stone will cost and an approximate time to get the stone in and set into your ring.
Generally the stone will have to be ordered from a gemstone supplier.
Thanks for asking. God Bless and Peace. Thomas.
