QuestionDear Marci,
This is going to be a rather broad question, so I totally understand if you can't provide an answer to all aspects.
I'm a 22 year old woman who has never been happy with my body, but I've never really commited to a weightloss goal. I always jump at the diet pills, diet patches, and other such fads, but never have any success. I'm 5'6 and as of this morning, weight 150 lbs. Most of my extra weight is concentrated around my stomach, hips and thighs.
I've recently gained more weight, and I've decided I'm really ready to improve my health and finally be proud of the way I look ASAP. So it's not just about a number on a scale, but I'd like to be fit, firm, and start eating better.
But I'm not quite sure how or where to start. Seriously, I'm totally clueless. And looking on the internet is an overwhelming amount of information from every possible angle. Any adivce or direction would be greatly appreciated.
Are there any diet pills/supplements/vitamins, etc. that would be benefical to include in my weightloss plan?
I've also heard of pre-diet cleanses and detox. Are these a good idea?
Thanks so much!!
AnswerHey Lindsey,
Thanks for your question.
Okay so the first thing that you need to change is your mindset. It seems that you've been relying on "diets" for a long time. The bottom line with diets is that they focus on short term results rather than long term gain.
Instead of going on diets what I want you to do is focus on making "lifestyle" changes - this will help you make permanent lifestyle changes rather than frustrating yourself with diets.
A really good resource you should get (its free) is at www.theyoyodietreport.com
it will ahve some very useful info that will help you start off on the right track.
Don't worry about being clueless, you'll be able to learn as you go and you'll gain experience from doing things like workouts and preparing your meals so don't worry about that :D
In terms of workouts heres a view videos that will help you get started.

Once you get a good routine going STICK with it, you'll only see results if your consistent!
So take your time and progress at your own pace.
I would only recommend a multi vitamin for women - talk with your doctor about which one would be good for you.
Don't worry about supplements now and get rid of the diet pill mentality - seriously! there are no quick fixes, you have to put in the effort to see results. Right now just focus on getting a workout routine and eating clean.
your pretty young so I don't think the cleanse/ detox would do you any good - maybe a few years down the road.
Whew! Hope that Lindsey and i truly wish you all the best! I know you'll make yourself proud!
