Early Pregnancy Concerns: Gestational Sac, Brown Discharge & HCG Levels

i'm only between 5-6 weeks pregnant and the dr has done 2 ultra sounds but only sees a gestational sac. on 6-22-09 i woke up with brown discharge, no cramping that i wasnt previously experiencing and this stayed the same until 6-24 when i noticed actual blood. its only there after i pee. i notice it on the toilet paper. i've been seen about this but still dont have any answers. i had my hcg level checked on the morning of 6-22 and it was 12632. went to the er 14 hrs later and it had dropped to 12088. my ob said that the numbers were still close together and where it was checked so close together, for me not to worry about it. i'm trying not to stress for the baby's sake, but i'm dying on the inside. i've been trying to get pregnant for years and i have no children, this is my first pregnancy. the er dr said it is a threatened miscarriage and my obgyn says not to worry about it right now. they took more blood this morning but it wont know anything about it until in the morning. please help! im so scared!!

I can understand how worrying this is for you. The best thing for you and your baby right now is to try not to worry - so much easier said than done though! Eat healthy, rest when you can and dont over do things. Give lifting and bending a miss for now.

The hCG levels are very close so until your next results I would try and see them as positive. Bleeding in early pregnancy is very common and in most cases, has no effect on the pregnancy.
