QuestionI'm 28 with a history of two miscarriages (found out second one was due to a trisomy; karyotyping of husband and me determined it wasn't a genetic problem from us).
I'm pregnant again, and the doc is kindly monitoring us carefully. My HCG at 10 days past ovulation (DPO) was 26. At 13 DPO it was up to 248! My progesterone was low -- only 11. I'm on prometrium but am fully aware the benefits are doubtful.
Today I'm 21 DPO, so if all went well my HCG should be in the 4-5,000 range (don't have the results yet). I've heard that at that level a yolk sac should be visible.
I had a vaginal ultrasound today, but we only saw a small gestational sac. No yolk sac. Doc didn't seem concerned and said the gestational sac was a good, normal shape. Should I have seen a yolk sac?
Thank you!
AnswerHI MB,
you really need to go back and question your ob because you have the right to really know what they mean about everything they tell you. Actually what they saw may be exactly normal and it may be too early to view the yolk sac, when will you have another us?
