Painkillers in Early Pregnancy: Risks & What to Do

Hello Roni!  I just found out that i am 7 weeks pregnant and VERY excited!  I am also very concerned because i have been taking prescription pain pills--loratabs and hydrocodone for a couple monthes due to a bad tooth ache.  Anyway, i know you are not supposed to take these while pregnant so i quit as soon as i found out.  But, I cannot find any information on what problems this could have caused my baby.  I am very worried as i know how important the first couple monthes are. If you could offer me any information on this, please do.  I am very concerned!  Thank you

Hello. I understand your worry.  There is good news.  Most of the time the things women take before they know they are pregnant do not effect the baby.
I am not familar with the drugs you were taking so I can not offer any information specific to them.
You need to talk to your Dr. of course when you see one.  But in the mean time try asking the Pharmacist at this site.
