Traveling During Pregnancy: Safety, Restrictions & Precautions

Question
I am 24 years old and am looking forward to having my first child.  My husband and I would like to get pregnant soon in order to have the baby sometime in June or July since I am a teacher and have this time to spend with our new baby.  My question is about travel.  We have a trip in late march to Hawaii that we cannot get out of.  Is it safe to travel when you are pregnant?  How pregnant is too pregnant?  What precautions should I take?  and so on.  I am really worried about going if I am pregnant but we do not want to put children off for another year.  Any advice would be helpful.

Thank you for your time!

Answer
You can safely travel by air during pregnancy. There are some precautions, though. We advise that you walk around the cabin of the plane every hour, and relieve your bladder at least once each hour. Drink plenty of fluids, as well. Other than that, there are no restrictions. We do not want you to travel in your last month of pregnancy (36 weeks or more) becaue we do not want you to go into labor in the air. If you want to have the baby in July or August of next year, you will have to conceive in October or November. Good Luck.
