QuestionHi Im not sure if you could answer this but I was on the pill for 14 yrs, from 14yrs-28yrs old. I had bad periods as a teenager. My question is I have been of the pill since jan of this year and have not had my period since. Maybe once or twice a drop or 2 but not a period. I know your body has to adjust and regulate I just wanted to see if there was a chance of pregnancy and I wouldnt be aware. How can I tell signs if I have no period to go by and how long should I wait b4 I still have no period? Thank you very much!
AnswerHi Shelly,
I do know it can take a while, several months, for the body to get itself regular after the Pill, especially since you were on it for so long.
I suppose there could always be a chance of pregnancy, many women do not have symptoms of pregnancy for a while (me being one of them) you do not necessarily have to be sick and having morning sickness and all the other usual signs of being pregnant to actually BE pregnant!
I would call your doctor and discuss with him/her, about when you can expect your cycle to regulate itself after such a long time on the Pill.
If you are truly concerned you are pregnant, you could always try a home pregnancy test, and retest a week or so later if you get a negative just to be sure. If it is positive, you have an immediate answer though.
Good luck, I hope this has helped you!
