QuestionI am 20. No children, March 31st was the first day of my last period.
I have heard that its possible to be allergic to semen. I am wondering if this is true. Here are my "symptoms." When I swollow semen, I get a VERY upset stomach, I get nausated and I can't stand to do anything else afterwords. Also, when I have sex with my boyfriend without a condom, (or if the condom breaks) It tends to itch a lot down in my vagina area. I usually wash it right away to stop the itching.
Could it be that I am allergic to semen? Is it possible? Are there any "cures"?
AnswerIt does not sound like you are allergic to your boyfriend's semen. It sounds like you get an upset stomach from oral sex, which is not uncommon. Itching is often seen following intercourse (due to friction and irritation and inflamation). Women who are allergic to semen have much more severe reactions to the semen and have difficulty in becoming pregnant. The treatment is by "desensitizing" the area to sperm. This involves abstenance for, at least, a year and gradual resumption of sexual activity. I do not believe that you are allergic to semen and you should not worry.
