Answer
At around fifty years of age, you start to lose estrogen in your body and start to approach menopause. Menopause is defined as the date of your last menstrual period. Once you have gone for an entire 12 months without having a period, we look back to the date of your last period as being the date you reached menopause. Before that date you were Pre-menopausal and after that date you are considered Post-menopausal. If you start to bleed after then, investigation must be done to make sure that there is nothing wrong. You will also start to have menopausal symptoms (flushes, flashes, night sweats, vaginal dryness, memory loss, etc). This can all be alleviated using hormomal therapy. I would consult your doctor.
