last period april 25 lasted 2 days
what is the liklyhood of concieving a day or 2 after your cycle?
AnswerIt is impossible to conceive two days after your period begins (cycle day #2). When you get your period, it is actually the shedding (sloughing off) of your endometrium (the inner lining of your uterus). Then estrogen starts building up the wall of the uterus again. At around cycle day #14, there is a surge of LH (luteinizing hormone) and you ovulate an egg from your ovary. This egg travels to the endof the fallopian tube and waits for a sperm. Estrogen drops and progesterone starts to rise. If you have unprotected sex at this time, the sperm will travel to the end of the tube and meet the egg and fertilize the egg. If the egg is fertilized, it travels back through the tube and reaches the uterus in 8 days, where it implants in the , now thickened, wall. If you do not fertilize the egg, progesterone will cause the wall of the uterus to slough off again around cycle day #28 (your next period). You can't conceive on cycle day #2 because you have not ovulated yet.
