Tanning During Early Pregnancy: Risks and Potential Effects

Question
If I am tanning and become pregnant and didn't know it until a month later, would I kill the baby inside even if it is just a few weeks old?  Or, would I just permanatly handicap my child, cause brain damamge or something?

I am tanning and am very afraid I will become pregant, I keep taking tests and they all show up negative but I keep having ALL the symptoms but nothing.  I had a period twice last month but still have not had one this month, could I be pregnant and not know it? If so am I hurting my child?  Please answer this ASAP! Thank you a million!

Answer
Hello Misty- no, you will do NO harm to the embryo by using a tanning bed- however, you could certainly do damage to YOURSELF as they are no better and sometimes worse for your skin than the sun.
