Early Pregnancy Symptoms: Understanding Mild Bleeding & Abdominal Discomfort
QuestionI am 30 yrs old. I have one child (aged 3). The date of my last period was 28th May, I am around 9 weeks pregnant.
I am finding it hard to remember about pregnancy symtoms from when I was last pg. I have low abdominal aches (nothing major), twice, when I have been to the toilet and wiped there has been a tiny (very tiny) amount of blood. Like a red pencil crayon line, almost. Should I be worrying and calling my midwife at the weekend or is it all fairly normal? I did bleed at 6 wks with my daughter and they found out I was A Neg. I had the relevant jab and my midwife said that I don't need to worry about that this time around.
So, what do you think?
Thankyou so much for your time.

AnswerNothing that you mention sounds abnormal or anything to worry about. Round ligament syndrome is common at this stage of pregnancy (pain while getting up out of bed or a chair and pain on one side of the abdomen or the other after turning suddenly while walking. Spotting is also common at this stage of pregnancy due to the developent of the placenta. Your blood type will not cause you any problems, although, if your husband is Rh positive, you will have to have RhoGam at 28 weeks and again after delivery of the baby. Unless you start to have heavy vaginal bleeding accompanied by strong cramping, you do not have to notify your midwife. Have a nice weekend.
