Potential Long-Term Health Risks for Premature Twin Girls
QuestionA friend of mine delivered twin girls at 25 weeks. Can you tell me what are some of the possible long term health problems they may have?
AnswerHello Cristal. Well, they may not survive at all acutally- though being girls is in their favor- they seem to survive better than boys. If they do live, they may have cerebral palsy, blindness and retardation. However, they may do just fine and grow up to be completely normal. The very best thing the mother can do is get her breastmilk supply built up and insist that they be given every drop she can produce. Hope that helps- Cheri.
