#2 but i don't my baby due date is October 13 th but I'm being induced Thursday the 11th but I'm just curious if you can give me any advice or anything i can do just needed an experts advice without going back to the ER to find out no change and again thank you for your time and consideration
AnswerIf you are feeling rectal pressure during the contractions, this means your baby is moving down and engaging. You will know it is time to return to the hospital when your labor begins to take all of your attention. You will not be able to get on the computer, read a book, or carry on much of a conversation, because each contraction will require all of your attention, and each break in between you will need for recovery. When you cannot do anything else, it's time to go back.
If you want to check yourself before you return, you or your husband can check on your dilation. Just make sure to wash your hands first and be gentle. You will be able to tell if you are progressing, even if you may not be sure of the exact measurement.
It sounds like you are making good progress on your own. Why are you scheduled for induction before you have even reached your due date?
