Pregnancy Possibility While on Birth Control: Period Delay & Negative Test

My girlfriend went on the pill two months ago and we have started having sex for about a month.  We use the pull out method because she is on the pill and now she is two days late for her period so far.  She took a pregnancy test this afternoon and it came up negative.  The reason why she went on the pill was because her periods were so irregular, is it possible that she could be pregnant?

Hello Jay, yes, some women DO get pregnant even though they are on the pill. That is why it is best to always use TWO forms of birth control- the pill AND a condom. The "pull out method" means NOTHING- it does NOT prevent pregnancy. The urine test is quite accurate, so I think you are safe this time and her period has been disrupted by the pill. BUT, use condoms EVERY time. Hope that helps- Cheri.
