Pregnancy Concerns: Understanding Vaginal Discharge & Labor Signs
QuestionI am currently 36 almost 37 weeks pregnant with my second child. I have been having a lot of severe Braxton Hicks in the past couple of weeks and went to the hospital today because I thought that my water broke. The nurse did an exam and said that it did not break, but was wet. My discharge is usualy white and thick but this time it was like water and when I wiped myself there was green mucus on the tissue. It looked like phlem. The nurse said that she didn't know why that happened or what it was. As of right now I am "leaking" fluid sparaticly but am still worried, should I be? Also do you feel it is safe to ask to be induced now? I am scared that something is going to happen to the baby if I don't. (I was induced with my last child)
AnswerHello Jennifer. All is well, your body is just getting ready to move into labor- however, this could be 3-5 weeks away yet. NO NO NO to induction. Your baby is not ready and if your body does not respond, you will have a section. There is NO need to rush things- your baby is just fine. It would be harmful to force the baby out before the time is right. Try to relax and allow mother nature decide when the time is right. Cheri.
