Questionim 38 weeks pregnant and i dont know what r the signs that i soon will go in to labor besides contractions. is there anything i shoul a week b4 or will i feel everything untilk the day of labor.
AnswerHi denice,
congrats! You must be due around the same time I was due (The surrogate baby I was carrying was due June 30 but I had her via emergency c-section this past Tuesday the 6th)
Unfortunately you may NOT have signs of labor. It can come on instantly or start slowly and barely noticeably. Every woman and pregnancy is different.
You MAY have a sudden burst of energy one day and decide to do a lot of things- I did this on Sunday and I think I should have known then that it may have meant labor or delivery was not far along, but I was only 36 weeks then and did t think it was anything.
You can lose your mucus plug, but this does not necessarily mean you will go into labor soon either. If this happens you should notice some gross looking discharge, whitish, maybe even a little pinkish, I cant describe it other than you may say EW what is THAT stuff!?!??
Lower back pains, strange food cravings, breathing differences (has the baby "dropped" or "engaged" yet?) one the baby drops or engages you may feel more pressure lower down and you may breathe easer too.
Your water may break but mine never has, and it is not common for it to break on its own. If it does it could be a big gush or a small trickle, so if you suddenly notice constant wetness, keep tabs on that and get it checked. I dont mean a one-time wet feeling, I mean a repeated wetness that is slower like a trickle.
All I can tell you is, if you are able to, walk walk walk and keep walking some more to help move things along. Also drink LOTS of fluid and get as much rest as you can.
Good luck, I hope it goes smoothly and quickly for you! Keep me posted!
