QuestionHello! I am 39 weeks and 5 days pregnant, due soon, and I don't think my baby has "dropped" yet. This is my first baby, and my doc says her head is "nice and low" but my body doesn't feel any different then it has the whole time. I've been told you wake up in the morning and you will KNOW that the baby has dropped, like you need to urinate a lot more, have less heartburn, can feel the baby's head low in your pelvis, and have more room under you bust area. Since I feel none of these drastic changes, has the baby not dropped? Or, can these things happen slowly over time, so I haven't noticed it? If she hasn't dropped, does that mean that I still have a long wait ahead of me? Or can I go into labor with her high, and the labor make her "drop" ... thanks!
AnswerHello Sabrina. If your dr is telling you that the head is low, believe him/her. Yes, these changes can take place very slowly as you suggest and that is likely what has happened. Even if the head still needs to come down a little, it will happen during labor. Hope that helps- Cheri.
