Can You Still Produce Breast Milk After 3 Years? | Lactation & Hormones

Question
I had my last child three years ago I breastfed him and since have had no milk coming from my breasts. Today I had some and I was wondering if it is possible to still produce milk after three years or do you think I could possibly be pregnant?

Answer
You would not be producing milk from the child  you had three ago.
If you are producing milk out of both breast it is probably something hormonal, pregnacy, or a hormone change for instance.  Women will sometimes have hormone changes, this is normal and usually nothing to worry about.
If it is only one breast, that is more worrisome, infection or cancer could be the cause.
If this does not stop in a week or so you should be seen,
good luck.
