Pregnancy Cramps & Diarrhea: When to Contact Your Doctor

Question
Hi,
I wanted to know how I will know when to contact my OB. I am 7 wks pregnant. I had a miscarriage three months ago and am sitting on eggshells now. I hear there is a virus going around consisting of vomitting and diahreeah. I have had a little cramping to day on and off not extremely painful, but annoying and a little bit painful. I have vommited twice today but ii have been also the last few days bec of the pregnancy. Should I be nervous abt this cramping that comes and goes or do I chalk it up to diahreeah? I have goen to the bathroom 3 times today aand it has been somewhat loose?
Please help me. Whenever I usually get my periodI only experience headaches. I have no idea what crampign feels like so I have no idea if I should be worried right  now.
Please explain.
Thanks

Answer
If you had a miscarriage in the past, you probably will worry even if I told you not to worry. HOwever, as long as you are not having heavy vaginal bleeding and heavy cramps, you should not worry. If you start to bleed heavily along with abdominal cramps, contact your doctor. If you are 7 weeks from the first day of your last period, by now a sonogram will show a fetus and a fetal heartbeat. If you are worried, ask your doctor to perform a sonogram and you will be reassured. Try not to worry. It is common to urinate frequently and to have nausea and vomiting at this stage of pregnancy. Good luck.
