Postpartum Hemorrhage & Miscarriage Recovery: A Personal Account

I am 21 years old, when I was 16 I got pregnant. I misscarried when I was approx. 4 mo. pregnant. My ob/gyn did not perform a D&C on me after the misscarriage. I was immidiately admitted to the hospital and had to stay there for approx. 2 weeks because I had lost so much blood, there was even talk of a blood transplant which I did not want. I did make it out of the hospital, but I was still bleeding very heavy. 2 weeks after my release I was taken to the emergency room and admitted again for the same reason, I stayed in the hospital for 3 more weeks. I bleed from the time of the miscarriage which was April 15th until August 12. When I was 19 I went to my ob/gyn (the same one) because I was having pains and irregular bleeding. He did two ultrasounds and told me that I have a cyst on each ovary and severe endomitriosis. I was curious as to if I could have gotten any of these problems as a result of my doctor not doing a D&C? Also, do you think I should go for a second opinion to another doctor? My boyfriend and I are planning to have children some day and I don't want these problems to effect that, but I also don't want to have an unneccesary surgery. I would appreciate your input and thank you for your time.

Wow you did have alot of problems. However it sounds as if your doc did make a good diagnosis and as we say if you want another opinion it would be good just to compare notes and give you a better idea of what to do. Usually what they will do is correct any problems by medications and/or surgery before you decide to concieve.
