Questioni am 24 i have no children and my last period was 02/11/05. i have had quite a few test and ultra sounds and yet i feel pregnant..cravings,mood swings,no periods, and for the past few weeks very tender breast and my nipples are always hard. Everyone i speak to says i sure sound it. I feel it.Medically gyno wise i had abnormal cells on my last pap and had a biopsy and coloscopy no results yet.The only other thing is my family doctor says i may have a hyper active thyroid could this be causing my symptoms? oh i also forgot i am not on any birth control so that isn't a factor either. i'm fishing for advice since all my doc says is i could start birth control to regulate my periods. but i want to know why it stopped after normal periods to begin with. i just don't want to feel pregnant without being pregnant.
AnswerMany of the symptoms that are found during pregnancy are also seen in the non-pregnant state. Usually, nausea, fatigue, breast tenderness, and amenorrhea are the earliest signs of pregnancy. However, these can be seen in gastrointestinal illnesses, water retention, thyroid disease, etc. Mood swings and cravings can be due to fluctuations of your hormones (estrogen and progesterone). If the pregnancy tests have remained negative, by now, you are definitely not pregnant and should take Provera 10gm twice a day for 5 days in order to bring on your period, and then start birth control pills in order to regulate your cycle. Once you are regulated, your symptoms should disappear.
