4cm Dilated, No Contractions at 40 Weeks? What to Expect

Hello,
I visited Dr. on Monday and she told me I am 4cms dialated, but till today i.e. thursday, I am not having contractions or anything like that. Please let me know, how many more days to go as I am 40 week pregnant? Is there anything I can do to start contractions ?

Is this your first baby?   This is not uncommon in first time Mother's.  Be glad, you are missing alot of the pain.  Once you start contracting you are about half way there!
Walking is good, and so is sex (unless you have been told not to have sex) to get the contractions started.
