QuestionI have just started my first cycle of Clomid. I do ovulate on my own, but it's late in my cycle (CD20 to CD21). I'm doing the Clomid Challenge, at 100mg dose. I took my first dose last night at 6pm (CD5), and noticed a significant temperature spike this morning upon rising (five-tenths of a degree jump), and I can assure you I did nothing out of the ordinary last night (no exercise, drinking, etc).
My question is, could ovulation have occurred after taking just one dose, and within a 12 hour time period? I highly doubt it, but I really wonder why my temperature soared so quickly. I will continue to temp this cycle, and perhaps just hope that it was a freaky coincidence.
AnswerI doubt that you could have ovulated this early in your cycle. Continue taking the Clomid on cycle day #5,6,7,8, and 9 and see if you ovulate around cycle day #14 rather than cycle day 20. Just because the temperature rose the day after you took the Clomid does not necessarily indicate ovulation. It may help to purchase an ovulation predictor kit from the pharmacy to check for an LH surge. Good Luck.
