Pregnancy Symptoms: Relief After Initial Nausea - Is It a Concern?

Question
I am 29.  This is my first pregnancy.  LMP was Sept 9.  For the last three weeks I have been nausiated almost constantly, usually throwing up 2-3 times a day.  For the last 2 days, I have felt well.  No vomiting and very little nausea.  I estimate I am roughly 7 weeks along.  Is this cessation of symptoms something to be concerned about or an ominous sign? I can not get in to see my MD until THursday.

Thanks.

Answer
If you have not had any heavy vaginal bleeding with cramping, I doubt that you have had a miscarriage. You do not have to feel nauseated or vomit every day during early pregnancy. At 7 weeks from your last period, a sonogram should show a fetus and a fetal heartbeat. If you have any doubts, ask your doctor to do a sonogram and you will know for sure. You should have your first obstetrical visit at 8 weeks from the first day of your last period. Good luck.
