Understanding Uterine Issues & Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)
QuestionHello Doctor,
I am 27 yrs old and i have a daughter who will be 2 yrs in 2 mths. The first day of my last menstrual period is Oct 23rd 2005.
I met my physician after I missed my periods. She took my blood sample and told me i have hypothyroidism. I also underwent an ultrasound and the doc also told me that i had polycystic ovaries, blood clot in the uterus and also a tissue build up in the uterus. Good thing is that my thyroid glands looked normal in the ultrasound. My doc told me consult my Ob-gyn doc. I am yet to get an appointment from my ob-gyn doc. It would be great if i get an hands on information on my various conditions befor i see my doc. Thanks a lot in advance.
AnswerIf you have a thickened endometrium, you probably should be given progesterone to slough of the endometrium. If your thyroid is O.K. you do not have to worry about that. You should also be evaluated for glucose intolerance due to the PCOS and should probably go on birth control pills once you get your period again.
