Cervix Height & Cycle Length: Understanding Pregnancy Possibilities

I am 29, I have one 4 y/o son and my LMP was 1/11/06. I believe I had an anovulatory month in Feb (even though that has never happened to me).
My questions is: I am due to start my period today. Which would make it a 36 day cycle and my cervix is very high, I can not reach it. Shoud it have already dropped and be firm if I am starting today or is there a possiblity that I am pregnant? I took a test three days ago with negative results but could that have been too soon to test?

Cervical position or texture is not accurate in determining when your period is going to start. Some women have a very high cervix and some have a very low cervix throughout the month.If your period started on January 11, a pregnancy test would be accurate when you took it. If it was negative, call your gynecologist and have your period induced for you using Provera 10mg twice a day for 5 days.
