Unplanned Pregnancy Concerns: Tracking Ovulation & Emergency Contraception

Question
My period started on Feb 16th.  In the early morning of March 5th, I had unprocted sex.  He did not ejaculate inside of me.  I know that this is not a full proof method of birth control however this was totally unplanned and unexcpeted.  I used to take the pill but I have been off of it for a few months.

About 3 hours after this incident.  I took 4 yellow trileveln and 4 more trilevel 12 hours later.  On March 7th I went to through out the trileveln case and notice that it had passed the expration date.  I freaked out and called the my doctor ASAP since I was still in the 72 hour window I got an RX for Plan B and took the first pill right away and the second 12 hours later.

I noticed a slight (a drop or two) of spotting on March 11 only when I wiped.  I also started to notice that my cervical mucus was slightly brown the following few days.  Then on March 16th I got what I think was my period.  This is the day I was supposed to get it and I bleed my usual 4 days.  The bleeding started out brown/dark red the first few hours of the first day then it was bright red the rest of that day and the next 2 days and then went back to brown/dark red.  This is the normal pattern of my periods. On that Sunday (3/19) I started a new brand of birth control pills Trivora they gave me the generic brand of Trileveln.

I have not had intercourse since the march 5th incident.

Now I am feeling bloated and my breast are sore so I took several (at least 10) home pregnancy tests (different brands) since they have all come out negative.  The latest one was a EPT digital test on March 30 with first morining urine.

I kown that those symptoms I listed above are signs of pregnancy but I would figure that by this time the hpt would have turned up positive if I was pregnant.  I don't know if the bleeding was caused by plan b or was it my period and the bloating and soreness is due to the new pills.  Or am I pregnant.

What do you think

Answer
The bleeding is normal after taking the two pills of Plan B. I do not know who advised you to take 4  trilevlen and then another 4 trilevlen. However, Plan B should work. If you started bleeding on March 16, and you started the Trivora on March 19, you would not become pregnant. If you were not on the pill, you would have ovulated on March 29 and could have become pregnant if you had sex on March 28,29,30, and 31 (if you were not on the pill).Don't worry. It does not matter if the bleeding was a result of Plan B or if you just were getting your regular period. As long as you bled, you are not pregnant.
