QuestionIm 18, and i have a 20 month old son. My husband and I are currently TTC # 2. My last period was April 6th. So i just asked a question last week, but i have another one. Last monday, the 24th of May, i started having some spotting. It started out as pinkish streaked Discharge and then turned into brown spotting. Ever since then, evey day i have had this brown discoloring. Its only when i wipe really. And usually worse after i have a bowel movement. I have never had irregular periods like this so i dont know what is going on. What could this be? I have read a lot about ectopic pregnancies and just wondered if this sounds like a sign of one? I have had some slight cramping, but nothing major, and some pain on my left side but it doesnt really hurt, more like a discomfort. Would it be too early to know if it could be ectopic? Please help. Im so confused! thanks!
AnswerAn ectopic pregnancy usually is accompanied by bleeding, not brown discharge. If your last period started on April 6, you would have ovulated on April 19 and could only conceive if you have sex on April 18,19,20, or 21. A brown discharge on April 24 would not indicate the presence of a pregnancy (either in the uterus or out of the uterus). If you miss your next period, take a pregnancy test. If it is positive, then you can evaluate where the pregnancy may be.
