Early Pregnancy Symptoms & Concerns: 8 Weeks Pregnant at 38

My name is AnnMarie I am 38 and my last period was March 21st so I am around 8 weeks pregnant.  I have 2 older children ages 15 and 13 yup starting all over again i am very excited.  My question is i am on the slender side I am already showing people are saying that i am having twins that is how much i am showing, question 1 do you think it is strange that i am already feeling flutters, are chances of twins greater with my age?  Also why does ny stomach beat like my heart and you can visible see my pulse in my arms you never did before why would that be.  Also i had gastric bypass 3 years ago and lost 180 pounds have you any advice on that.  Thanks so much

First of all, congratulations on the 180 pound weight loss!  That is great.  Sometimes people show more quickly when they have twins, but everyone is different and some people just show more quickly than others in general.  I don't think you are feeling any fetal movement at this point.  Sometimes gas can feel a lot like fetal movement.  There is a slightly increased chance for twins but it is not much.  About your heartbeat and your stomach, you have some major arteries and veins that run through your stomach.  In someone that is slender, it is not uncommon to see those veins and arteries pulsate.  Good luck!
